carved heels from Betsey Johnson

Heel accents & details are so hot right now - the carved heel of the “Denim Cholita” shoe from Betsey Johnson is a new take on the trend though:

Plus - all those little flowers are too cute :-)

high heels as a weapon?

Ladies, this is why you don’t take your shoes off at parties!
“Seattle police are seeking a man who stabbed a woman with the stiletto heel of her own shoe, causing an infection that required emergency surgery.”
Of course, if you’d like to wear shoes that can be worn as a weapon, there’s the black patent leather, […]

summery woven flat sandals

I think these “Scarlett” sandals from French Sole are adorable:

Woven raffia uppers, little flowers and they even come in two colors!

Ah, now that’s a happy shoe for summer time :-)

Happy 4th of July

I’d like to wish all of my lovely readers from the USA a Happy 4th of July!
And, if you feel the need for a suitably patriotic-ly colored shoe, may I suggest the “Volatile” peep-toe wedge by Alexis?

It’s printed fabric uppers in red, white & blue can express your spirit, without going over the top…

strappy Mary Janes from Sofft

I love strappy shoes, but unless you’re a 6 foot tall, size 2 model, they can make the average woman’s leg look stumpy.
And stumpy is just not flattering!
The “Veronica” from Sofft has a strap placed lower on the shoe - strappy, but not stumpifying!

And as an added little bonus - it’s got a delicate little […]

camouflage patent leather heels?

 No, just no…

Camouflage patent leather high heel slingbacks by Manolo Blahnik???
I can’t think of an occasion that would require camouflage and high heels - a formal assault party, perhaps?
Combats & canapes?

Mouse shoes from Marc Jacobs

A person could argue that no woman over the ago of, oh - say 10 years, should wear shoes with faces…
But these patent leather mouse shoes from Marc Jacobs are just too adorable to not mention:

Cute, no?
Suitable for wearing to sit in a cafe and sip coffee or browse through your favorite bookstore… just avoid […]

fashion & comfort in a flat shoe

I’m going to be spending an awful lot of time on my feet this summer - I’m teaching a series of art camps.  I need a shoe that’s going to be comfortable & supportive from 7am to 5pm… as well a shoe that still looks pretty.
Tall order, huh?
I think that the charming mary-jane flat “Millie […]

summer whites

Do you need a break from the intense colors of summer?  Too much bold yellow and bright turquoise?  How about trying some summer whites?  Soft, elegant and very wearable when the mercury starts to climb…

high heel sandals from John Galliano

It’s the weekend, it’s summertime, it’s even a long weekend for my US readers…   So what do we need?
Sexy, summery shoes of course!

I think this pair of pink patent leather sandals from John Galliano fills the bill nicely :-)
